We have discussed changes in our lives today. What made us stop and think about our lives. Where these changes life-changing or short-lived? For Sharon Creech, the Newbery award changes her life in many ways. She worried less about: getting her books published, about the public being able to find her books, it forced her to learn to speek in public, and to enjoy her freedom as a writer.

Chapter 1:
A Face at the Windown

Vocabulary:
plucked - taken away from what she knew, her famliar surroundings and the place where she grew up
jammed together - the houses were build close together

Homework:
Write an essay about your life-changing experience.
